Beadlet Anemone
Actinia equina
- Group: Anemone
- Typical depth: 0–1600 m
- Max size: 8 cm
Pressed flat into a glistening blob at low tide, this anemone reopens underwater into a ring of stout tentacles that snare passing plankton and small animals. It clings to rock from the waterline down, common on harbour walls and shore boulders, and never grows much past a few centimetres across.
