A large solitary sea anemone, the deeplet plants itself in fine muddy clay and waits for prey to drift into its ring of tentacles. It tolerates cold water around six or seven degrees and turns up across a wide depth band, mostly somewhere between fifty and one hundred metres. It poses no threat to divers.
