One of the rarest of all wedgefishes, this guitar shaped ray is known from only a handful of coastal specimens and listed as Critically Endangered. Pups are born at around fourteen centimetres and adults reach roughly eighty. Heavy inshore fishing across its narrow range leaves little room for it to recover.
