Diamond Mullet

Named for its diamond shaped scale pattern, this mullet moves between coastal seas, estuaries and rivers, often pushing into fresh water. It favours slow or still turbid lagoons over muddy ground, grazing microalgae, detritus and plant matter, and reaches about three quarters of a metre.
