Tope Shark

Galeorhinus galeus

Tope Shark

This slim hound shark works the shelf and upper slope from the shoreline down to several hundred metres, but it also ranges far offshore and is often caught on floating tuna lines over deep water. Tagged fish have crossed entire seas, and heavy fishing has pushed it to critically endangered.
