The long toothed blade jutting from its snout is studded with teeth the sawfish swipes through schools of fish and rakes through the bottom for prey. This giant reaches seven and a half metres and crosses freely between sea, estuaries and rivers, even breeding in fresh water. Once widespread, it is now Critically Endangered.
