Deep-Water Rose Shrimp

A pink shrimp of the continental slope, the deepwater rose shrimp ranges over mud and muddy sand and supports major trawl fisheries. Juveniles settle around 100 metres while larger adults stay below 350 metres, down past 800 metres. It grows to about 16 centimetres and feeds on small bottom animals.
