Tidal Spray Crab

Plagusia depressa

Tidal Spray Crab

This flat bodied crab clings to the splash zone where the surf breaks hardest, wedging into fissures and crevices on jetties, buoys and ship hulls. Its broad legs and gripping claws let it hold fast as spray washes over it again and again.
