Eroded Cowrie

A cowrie with a glossy, egg smooth shell up to about 8 centimetres, it hides by day under stones and coral slabs and on the underside of rocks. The living animal drapes a fleshy mantle right over its shell to keep it polished, and the empty shells are gathered by collectors.
