Broad and flat with paddle shaped antennae instead of long feelers, the Mediterranean slipper lobster grows to about forty five centimetres and walks rocky and sandy bottoms between four and a hundred metres. It feeds mainly on molluscs, prying limpets off the rock, and females carry eggs through the summer.
