A cryptic goby of vertical rock faces, it tucks into crevices inshore, usually between six and twelve metres but ranging to forty. The leopard spotted goby is dappled with reddish blotches, feeds on small crustaceans, worms and snails, and a female may release up to twelve thousand eggs.
