Yarrell's blenny lurks among rocks and seaweed, never in the intertidal, from about 10 metres down to nearly 300, decorated with branching tassels above its eyes. It picks bottom invertebrates such as small mollusks, polychaetes, hydroids and sponges, and also takes algae.
