A tall, plain grey triggerfish of seaward reef edges, the ocean triggerfish hangs in open water near drop offs, alone or in small groups, and often shadows drifting Sargassum. It feeds mainly on large zooplankton and can lock its first dorsal spine upright to wedge itself into a crevice.
