Sea Frost

Salmacina dysteri

Sea Frost

Sea frost builds delicate white limestone tubes that pile into lacy crusts over rock, shells and harbour pilings. Each tiny worm pushes out a crown of tentacles to filter food from the water, and the colony can grow quickly across both shallow and deep reefs.
