Wavy Jaw Slopefish

Cymatognathus aureolateralis

Wavy Jaw Slopefish

A small reef slope fish recently described from Indonesian waters, the wavy jaw slopefish is known mainly from a few specimens taken as bycatch by deep handline fishers and from video off Lembeh. It reaches about eighteen centimetres, and the depths it favours are still being worked out, somewhere along the band where snappers and bigeyes are caught.
