Ambon Catshark

Akheilos suwartanai

Ambon Catshark

Described from a single Indonesian specimen, this catshark remains almost unknown, even its depth range a mystery. The one stomach examined held pieces of a small snake eel, so it clearly hunts other fish near the bottom. It reaches about 54 centimetres.
