Royale Cucumber

The royal sea cucumber sprawls across the continental shelf carrying large papillae on its back, swallowing sediment and digesting the organic matter within. It lives from around five metres down to about 800 metres and grows to roughly 35 centimetres, and is taken by trawl as a delicacy in parts of the Mediterranean.
