A long, fully beaked needlefish of Atlantic offshore and coastal waters, the Atlantic agujon reaches about a metre and a half and hunts fish and shrimp near the surface. Its eggs carry fine tendrils that snag onto floating objects. Larger ones can carry ciguatera, so the flesh is not always safe to eat.
