A bottom hugging guitarfish of shallow soft seabeds, the speckled guitarfish bridges the shape between shark and ray with its flattened front and sharklike tail. Adults dig out prawns and crabs while the young take mostly small amphipods, and the species is bearing live young. It is listed as vulnerable.
