Flat and broad, the Atlantic angel shark buries itself in the seabed and ambushes fish, crustaceans, and mollusks passing overhead. It lives from the shoreline down to well over a thousand metres, and if handled it will bite hard, leaving nasty lacerations from its trap like jaws.
