A tiny killifish no longer than a finger, the rainwater killifish hangs a few inches below the surface of quiet, weedy water where fresh and salt mix. It picks off larval crustaceans, mosquito wrigglers, small worms and snails, and unlike many of its kin it breeds year round rather than racing to spawn in a drying pool.
