Furry to the touch from a dense coat of short bristles, this lobster shelters in coral reef caves and crevices in shallow water from about 9 to 27 metres. It grows to roughly 20 centimetres, comes out to forage at night, and unlike spiny lobsters carries no long whip antennae.
