True Crab

Nanosesarma minutum

A tiny mangrove crab barely a few centimetres across, this species clings to the roots of Rhizophora and Avicennia trees and shelters among oysters, rock crevices and old shells. It lives between the tideline and shallow subtidal water, even straying into fresh water, and joins the fouling crowd on mariculture gear.
