Sprinting across tropical beaches at the waterline, this ghost crab digs deep tube shaped burrows on exposed shores and hunts smaller animals where it gathers in numbers. Its stalked eyes carry tall horns, and the burrows that pock the sand in summer all but vanish in winter.
