Loaded Nassa

Nassarius oneratus

A small predatory sea snail of soft seabeds down to about 50 metres, this nassa shell tracks dead and dying animals across the bottom by scent. Like its relatives it uses a long siphon to sniff out a meal, then extends a flexible proboscis to feed.
