The grooved razorfish swims head down, its body flattened into a thin blade edged with a sharp keel, hovering in unison among branching corals and seawhip gardens. Large schools hang vertically over sandy inlet floors, and juveniles shelter beside crinoids and urchins. It grows to only about seventeen centimetres.
