A big eyed bream of offshore reefs and trawling grounds, the blue lined large eye bream picks bottom invertebrates and small fish from rocky and muddy floors between about 20 and 170 metres. Juveniles stay inshore over mud, and adults move out to deeper, harder ground. It reaches about eighty centimetres.
