Named for the two fang like teeth at the front of its jaw, the tigertooth croaker works coastal waters down to about 50 metres. It hunts fishes, prawns and other invertebrates over soft bottoms and grows to roughly 90 centimetres. Like other croakers, it can produce drumming sounds with its swim bladder.
