A small blenny of the intertidal zone, it sits on reef flats in barely half a metre to a metre and a half of water where the rock wears a thin carpet of algal turf and sand. It glues its eggs to the substrate on a tiny adhesive pedestal, and the hatched larvae drift in shallow coastal water.
