A small blenny of shallow lagoon seagrass beds, it also rides floating Sargassum rafts after the wet season. It feeds mostly on small crustaceans and occasionally rasps scales from other fish, and it sticks its adhesive eggs to the bottom. It reaches about 15 centimetres.
