This little goby shares a burrow with a snapping shrimp on sandy and muddy bottoms of coastal bays and lagoons. The nearly blind shrimp digs and maintains the home while the goby stands guard, flicking its tail to warn the shrimp of danger. It lives down to about 30 metres.
