A long, tongue shaped flatfish that hugs muddy and sandy bottoms across the continental shelf, it also pushes into estuaries and can travel far up the Mekong into the freshwater tidal zone. It feeds mostly on small bottom living invertebrates and reaches depths around 400 metres.
