A broad yellow saddle splits the deep blue body of this angelfish, a fish of semi protected inshore reefs in the Red Sea and Arabian region. It feeds mainly on sponges and tunicates and stays shallow, between about 3 and 30 metres. Very aggressive toward its own kind unless it has found a mate.
