Horrid Elbow Crab

Daldorfia horrida

Horrid Elbow Crab

Its pentagon shaped carapace bristles with spines and one pincer grows to double the size of the other, helping it vanish under rocks and sandy mud. This elbow crab ranges from the shore to about 125 metres and may hold toxins that ordinary tests miss, so it is unsafe to eat.
