A spotted ice seal of the north Pacific, the larga seal hauls out on the southern edge of the pack ice through winter and spring, then moves to coasts and river mouths in summer. Pups start on tiny crustaceans and graduate to fish, larger crustaceans, octopus, and bottom prey. Listed as Least Concern.
