A deep sea anglerfish of the midnight zone, Krefft's dreamer lives down to around two thousand metres and lures prey with a glowing tip on a fishing rod sprouting from its head. It is a tiny fish at about eleven centimetres, and only females are known, the dwarf males never having been collected.
