A barracuda of cooler waters, the pelican barracuda moves in small groups of a few to twenty individuals from the surface down to about 24 metres. Large fish may slash prey to pieces before swallowing, using rows of big triangular side teeth behind a toothless jaw front. It reaches about 90 centimetres.
