This two centimetre pygmy seahorse lives wrapped around gorgonian seafans, its body tubercles and colour mimicking the host's stems and polyps so well it nearly vanishes against them. The male broods the eggs in a pouch beneath his tail, ranging from seven metres to as deep as a hundred.
