Endemic to the rocky inshore reefs around Mexico's Revillagigedo Islands, this damselfish grazes on whatever the reef offers, from algae to small invertebrates. Pairs form during breeding, the female sticks her eggs to the rock, and the male fans and guards them until they hatch. The IUCN lists it as vulnerable because of its tiny range.
