White-Jawed Cardinalfish

A small cardinalfish of turbid shallows, it haunts mangrove creeks, weedy lagoon reefs and seagrass beds, mostly in water less than two metres deep. As with other cardinalfish the male shelters the eggs in his mouth, and it hides by day and feeds after dark.
