This little glassfish, its body almost transparent, lives in mangroves, estuaries and freshwater streams, usually within twenty kilometres of the sea and in warm water around 28 to 32 degrees. It moves in schools, hunts mostly by day, and migrates into fresh water though it spawns in salt or brackish conditions. Fishers take it with hand and scoop nets.
