A small stingfish of muddy and sandy bottoms, the dwarf stingfish buries itself by day and is seldom seen except at night or when stumbled upon. It is often coated in hydroids that camouflage it, and like its scorpionfish kin it carries venomous fin spines despite its tiny size.
