Easy to spot in its blocks of red, yellow and grey, this cardinalfish clusters among the branches of Porites coral in sheltered bays by day and spreads out near the bottom to feed at night. The male broods the eggs in his mouth, and it has been bred in captivity for the aquarium trade.
