A four centimetre triplefin of clear coastal reefs, the rhinoceros triplefin perches on algae covered boulders and under ledges in very shallow water, usually in small groups. The female glues sticky thread covered eggs into the algae of the nest, and the larvae drift in the plankton before settling.
