A snake eel that all but vanishes into the seabed, the snaggle toothed snake eel is thought to hold a near permanent burrow with only its snout and eyes showing, then dart out to grab fish and crustaceans. Despite its slim build it stretches to about a metre. It lives in shallow water, roughly between 5 and 10 metres.
