Granulated Guitarfish

A large guitarfish reaching nearly three metres, with a flattened, ray like front and a shark like tail, it ranges from the intertidal out across continental shelves to about 119 metres. It feeds on large shellfish crushed by flat plated jaws and bears six to ten live pups in a litter. Heavily fished and slow to breed, it is now critically endangered, and much of its life remains poorly known.
