A small inshore and offshore shark of tropical continental seas, the sicklefin weasel shark feeds mainly on cephalopods, with a strong taste for octopus, and takes crustaceans as well. It bears live young and reaches about one and a third metres. Caught regularly in inshore fisheries, it is listed as Vulnerable.
