A slender stargazer that lies buried in coarse sand with only its eyes and upturned mouth exposed, the arrow stargazer ambushes small invertebrates passing overhead. It sticks to full strength seawater and avoids brackish habitats. A tiny fish, it reaches just six centimetres.
