A small brotula of sand, weed and rocky bottoms in the Gulf of California, this fish even turns up in tide pools and grows to about ten centimetres. It bears live young, with one female found carrying around 150 eggs alongside nineteen tiny embryos. Like other brotulas it gives birth rather than laying eggs.
