Pacific Sand Sole

A flatfish that starts life upright before one eye migrates and it settles onto sandy bottoms, lying flat with both eyes facing up. It hunts small fish, worms, crustaceans and shellfish, ranges from shallow water down past three hundred metres, and reaches about sixty centimetres.
